Wow, the night went so fast. It took my voice away. It was a long time since seeing many of you, but once we were together, it didn't feel that way. What a blast! I didn't even get to ask everyone what was going on now, we did so much remeniscing. As I saw the younger people, I started remembering more. Mrs. Sedlak gave me all the pictures, and I have been able to figure out some people. Some are of your older bros and sis'. I will try to get them on this site and name some of the people. Jeanette and crew did a great job! I wish I had everyones email address. Hope to do it again.

What a wonderful evening! Jeanette and crew thanks for the flashback...I felt like I was in a time warp. I couldn't believe the names, faces, and songs that just came out of my mouth without a thought as to who you all were! You all turned into such fine young adults. It was great seeing all of you, especially my piano girls and Wizard cast. And those pictures by Mrs. Sedlak were priceless. I hope you all keep in touch with each other as much as you can, and don't wait too long to reconnect with your youth. Thanks for the memories!

Holy Cow what a night! My voice is still gone. I can't express how much fun I had. When I look at the pictures, I just want to re-live that night all over again. Jeanette and Co. you guys did an awesome job. Let's do this every 5 years, no every 2 years, no every week! Yeah that's it every week. We'll take turns and meet at everyone's houses. It was great to see my old class, you guys haven't changed a bit and make sure you stay that way!!!

Thank you very much Jeanette for Saturday nite. We had a blast. We also know how much work has to go into making the night a success. If you girls have a post nite get together you'll have to give our thanks to the rest of the comittee. I knew I would have a great time, but Marge is still talking about it. She was great to allow me to spend so much time at St. John's. She even turned into a "gym rat". I think she adopted half of our basketball teams. It was so great to see how all of you have grown into adulthood and your own lives. Thanks again and if you have any other reunions planned, please keep us on your list. Love, Jim and Marge Sage.

I just want to thank you for a great reunion. As a parent I was looking forward to seeing all the "kids" again. I can't even begin to tell you how much it meant to me to see everyone, including the other parents who were there. I hope future alumni reunions will include the parents again. Everyone who pitched in to help organize this event deserves a big thank you as well. It was evident that a lot of hard work went into this wonderful event. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Love to all of you Fran Helminiak

That was great to see everyone again! Seriously, lets try and have a Class of 83 holiday party at a restaraunt or bar, someplace we can just sit back and bs over some food and drinks without the distractions of 150 other people. That would be fun. My email is on here, or you can call me @ 630 330 1131. Lets try and get some of the people that couldnt make it Saturday involved also! Hope to see you all again soon...John

Excellent work by Jeanette et al. Thanks much. Perhaps I'll charter a jet and have everone out to the Phoenix Hilton for the next one in a few years. Some time in January. Hey everyone! Wow it's banana's to think about old times and to catch up with everybody. So, what's with the lunch comment...I don't get it? I ate the "hot lunch" stuff they brought in. Anyone remember the "trash compactor"? There would be 2 nuns on watch on either side of it to make sure you ate all of your lunch. If you didn't finish a single bite you had to go back to the table to eat it, because there are starving children elsewhere! To this day I still cannot even look at macaroni salad, because they made me eat it...which I then um...excuse me ...threw it up. I'll never forget when my Dad called up Sr. Jane screaming at her that I shouldn't have to eat what I didn't want to. After that I could prance right past the nuns and throw away any food that I wanted :) Well, I hope to see everyone, if not at the reunion, to at least post on the website to catch up. P.S. anyone wearing their cute little plaid skirt..eew.

Can’t get over the feelings and memories this has brought back for me. What a wonderful time in my life! I would love to see everyone at this reunion but unfortunately I am unable to come into town. Cheryl (Buttrick) and I will be having our own reunion that same weekend. We’ll be thinking of all of you and reminiscing about the good ole days, I’m sure. I’ve been living in Southern California for 23 years. I am not presently married but will be married in the upcoming spring. I have a 13 year old son (who makes me very proud) from a previous marriage. Sure wish I could see you but drop me a line to say hello – would love to hear from you! Have a great time at the party. Thanks for the memories!

Thanks for the message and the update on the SJV reunion. I wish I could get away for the reunion; it sounds like a blast. The guys I remember best from our class are Bob Slowiak (may he rest in peace), Brad Bashem, and Greg Stewart. I remember Greg's Mom worked for the company that made Binaca breathe freshener, so he always had a great stash of goodies. I also remember when she took us to see The Towering Inferno at the movie theater and he and I joked about OJ Simpson playing football with the cat he rescued from a burning apartment (...OJ should have never made that movie). Mom used to take Lisa and I to the theater in downtown Elmhurst on Saturday afternoons to see the latest Disney feature (like Escape From Witch Mountain or something similar). I also remember the Sloppy Joe days at SJV. I guess a hot greasy sandwich is better than cold ham salad though. Remember we had to fill out our request slips ahead of time so that the volunteer moms could make enough? I remember thinking I could eat three or four, but that bloated feeling after two was more than enough. The closest thing I have experienced next to those sandwiches since then is a Maid Right loose meat sandwich with lots of ketchup. I also remember roller skating on the parquet hardwood floor in the gym. Remember the organ music (...which was a bit dated even in the mid-1970s)? I can still feel the sensation of speed skating around that floor. I used to love It's A Small World! I don't think I have been in a parish since that has a school fundraiser anything like that. Well thanks for letting me take a stroll down memory lane. Take care and enjoy the reunion! John Nett (79)

Yes, due to popular belief I'm still alive and I've never done prison time. I'm married with 2 daughters...5 and 11 and I live in Forest Park. What a delightful event to anticipate! I often think of all the terrific S.J.V. students that I was able to teach...and I remember them fondly. Last weekend was my daughter's wedding, so I am a bit late with my RSVP but, my husband and I will be there. I'll try to find some old pictures. After having my children, I continued teaching in Lombard, after which I went into administration. For the last 13 years I have been Principal at St. Philip the Apostle School in Addison. Occasionally, I run into S.J.V. alumnae, and it is always fun to reminisce. See you on the 15th. Mrs. Sedlak

I am so thrilled to have been contacted about this event. It brings back sooooo many good memories. After I left St. John Vianny I went to St. Pius X in Lombard for 9 years, where I continued the traditions I made at Vianney with musicals, choir and variety shows, but nothing like the Wizard of Oz. Then Seton High School for 2 years, on to Regina Dominican High School in Wilmette for 12, where my choirs and shows were legend. Currently I am at Fenwick High School in Oak Park, where I taught Paula Starr-Pezza's son Chris and her daughter Mattie was in my choir all through her high school years. I am looking forward to seeing some of you at the reunion!
